MILWAUKEE – After three weeks on the road to begin the 2023 campaign, the MSOE women's volleyball hosted Marian University Thursday night, but fell in a sweep.
RESULT
MSOE RAIDERS – 3
Marian - 0
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The momentum moved right into the direction of Marian (7-5, 1-1 NACC) as they jumped out to a 6-0 lead to begin the match. MSOE (3-8, 0-2 NACC) didn't work back into the match until 14-7 when a spark from Gillian McDaniel sparked 6-1 run to get them to within two of the Sabres. Down two late, the Sabres were able to pull away taking the first set 25-20.
- The second set had shades of the first as an early deficit for the Raiders forced them to climb back. An 8-3 run capped by an Emma Braun ace put them within one, but later a 6-0 run from the Sabres rode out the second set victory 25-17. The Sabres made a small run into a runaway for them in the third set, capping off the match with a 25-13 set victory.
