WEST WINDSOR, NJ. – MSOE Raider Rowing competed at the MARC Championship on Sunday as the Raider Women's 4+ captured the silver medal on Lake Mercer, bringing some hardware back home to Milwaukee.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first race of the day for MSOE was the Men's Novice 4, where MSOE's crew of Raymen Vue, Maximillian Klincewicz, Tobias Engle, Garin Schilling, and coxswain Karl Kosterkiewicz took 5th with a time of 7:45.724.
- The Women's Varsity 4+, led by their coxswain Brooke Stanley, and crew of Annika West, Sabrina Lutz, Ava Pike, and Veronica Skinner finished with a time of 8:15.442, good enough for 2nd place in their lone race of the day. The Raider's bring home hardware on the women's side for the first time since joining the MARC in 2022.
- The final event of the day for the Raiders was the Men's Varsity 8+, as MSOE just missed a spot on the podium with a 4th place finish, less than two seconds behind bronze-finisher Lehigh University . MSOE's crew was led by coxswain Owen Podziemski, with a crew of Liam Otten, Vito Signaigo, Trey Miller, David Frenkel, Aidan Roth, Asuka Suzuki, Andre DeWet-Daniels, and Ryan LeMay.
RAIDER REMARKS
- Several Raiders brought home all-conference awards, as captains Trey Miller and Owen Podziemski were named MARC Academic All-Conference, while Miller also received MARC Second Team All-Conference honors. Freshmen Ava Pike and Raymen Vue both earned the distinction of MARC Novice All-Conference to cap off a successful weekend for the Raiders.
WHAT'S ON DECK
The Raiders have one more race on the schedule, the Jefferson Dad Vail Regetta in Pennasauken, New Jersey, starting on Friday, May 10th.
