LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The MSOE men's basketball team wrapped up the D3Hoops Classic Tuesday evening, falling in a back-and-forth battle over Occidental College. The game saw nine total lead changes, while the Raiders converted on eleven three-pointers, six coming from
Mason Dopirak, and a double-double performance from
Chase Cummings.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- MSOE (5-6, 3-1 NACC) opened the game on a 12-4 as Dopirak and Cummings each nailed a three. Occidental (7-1, 1-0 SCIAC) brought the game down to a one-point game at the 11:36 mark to then tie the game at 19 just under ten minutes to play in the half. Carson Cordelli put the Raiders back in front laying one in, but the Tigers tied it twice more before taking a 29-28 lead with 5:35 to go. A 9-0 run gave the Tigers their largest lead of the half as the Raiders were able to cut the deficit down to three to go into the half trailing 41-38.
- As the second half sparks took a few minutes to get going, the Raiders tied the game at 43 as Isaac Wit nailed one from long range 2:12 into the half beginning. Dopirak caught fire from behind the arch, hitting three straight to get the lead to six with 13:24 to play, before getting it up to nine at 60-51. The Tigers immediately went on a 8-0 run to tie the game at 60 as the remaining 8:55 saw six lead changes. The Tigers took the lead last with 3:14 to play, pulling away to lead by seven with 31 to play.
