KENOSHA, Wis. – The MSOE swimming & diving teams competed at the Carthage Classic as the men came away victorious after the three day competition while the women finished fifth.

MEN'S TEAM RECAP
- Theo Thomas dominated the short sprints, winning the 50-yard freestyle in 21.04 and the 100-yard freestyle in 46.40. Caleb Brewer won both butterfly events, taking the 100-yard butterfly in 51.19 and the 200-yard freestyle in 1:57.05. Joven Langseth won the 400-yard IM in 4:15.44, edging the second-place finisher by .01. In the 200-yard freestyle, Tyler VanGompel tied for first place, finishing in 1:45.54.
- The Raiders completely dominated the relays, kicking off the classic with the win in the 800-yard freestyle with Brewer, VanGompel, Isaac Urban, and Thomas taking it in 6:53.78. The group of four also won the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:24.88, along with the 400-yard freestyle relay in 3:06.65.
WOMEN'S TEAM RECAP
- Gabby Schmid led the women, having two second-place finishes on the week, first in the 200-yard IM in 2:08.79 and then in the 100-yard butterfly in 59.89. She also added a third-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle in 1:57.51.
- The Raiders finished twice in the top-five in the relay events, first in the 200-yard freestyle as Ava Pike, Bella Moyer, Anna Baker, and Schmid finished with a time of 1:43.77, along with Pike, Jocelyn Katte, Moyer, and Schmid finishing in 3:47.74 in the 400-yard freestyle.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Raiders will season action again after the new year as they will face Milwaukee in a dual kicking off on January 16
thwith a majority of the action coming the following day.
