MCMINNVILLE, Ore. – The MSOE baseball team finished off their weekend in Oregon, splitting with Willamette University in two high scoring affairs.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Game One
- MSOE (2-2, 0-0 NACC) kicked things off as Jake Franks led off the game with a home run to right center for the early lead as they tact on two more runs to lead 3-0 after the top half of the first. Willamette (1-1, 0-0 NWC) scored a run in the bottom half, which the Raiders answered in the top half of the second as Charlie Claas doubled to left center to score JJ Jackson to make it 4-1.
- The Bearcats put together a four-run fourth inning to lead 5-4. After a pair of scoreless innings, the runs picked back up in the seventh as the Raiders put two runs across to retake the lead 6-5. The Raiders utilized their power in the top of the eighth, scoring four runs with three of them coming on extra base hits, extending the lead to 10-5. The Bearcats made it a game with two runs in the eighth and one in the ninth, but Jackson closed things out, striking out the final two batters to take game one.
- Game Two
- After having success with their bats to end game one, the Bearcats opened game two with four runs in the first inning to set the tone. The Raiders immediately worked to cut into the damage in the top of the second as Preston Manthei scored Teo Greco on a groundout and then in top of the third with Franks hitting his second home run of the day to make it 4-2.
- The Bearcats answered those two runs in the third, making it 6-2. A flurry of action in the fourth for the Raiders gave them lead after Christian Bosque drove in both Franks and Manthei, making it 7-6. The Bearcats' bats began to thrive after that, scoring five in the fourth and a run in both the sixth and seventh, leading 13-7. Jordan Skolmar's power kick-started a four-run eighth to try and start some late inning heroics, but it was cut short after the Bearcats added one more in the bottom half and then finished them off in the ninth.

WHO'S ON DECK
The Raiders head to Southern Illinois next weekend with games against Westminster College and Central College. The first game of the weekend will be against the Bluejays on Friday, February 27
th at 5:00 p.m.
