Raiders Drop Home Opener to Blue Devils

MILWAUKEE – The MSOE women's lacrosse team dropped their home opener late Friday afternoon, falling to University of Wisconsin-Stout.

RESULT
MSOE RAIDERS – 8

Wisconsin-Stout - 14

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Stout (1-1, 0-0 WIAC) struck quickly, scoring just 1:52 into the game before scoring to more before two more to lead by three. Jenna Kent got MSOE (0-2, 0-0 NACC) on the scoreboard just before the first quarter wrapped as she struck down the right side to make it 3-1. The Blue Devils continued to score quick, getting one just 38 seconds into the second with two more coming after that as Vayda Flower struck on a wraparound goal just seconds before the buzzer to cut it 6-2 at the break.
  • The Blue Devils added another goal to open the second half, but Chloe Ninmann would not let them go on their usual run, scoring on a man-up opportunity to make it 7-3. After two more goals from the Blue Devils, the Raiders would score two of their own just 53 seconds apart as Maggie Sanderson and Arial Lapsa would strike, making it 9-5. The two would trade goals to end the third with Flower getting her second, heading into the fourth with a Blue Devils advantage 10-6.
  • Two more from the Blue Devils would go through to extend their lead to six. After Ashlyn Bode found Ninmann for her second, the Blue Devils would add two more to put the game away, despite Ninmann adding more on a free position.
