HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Game One
    • Lakeland (8-13, 2-7 NACC) jumped on the board first with a run in both the first and second inning to make it 2-0. MSOE (16-6, 7-1 NACC) got on the board in a massive way in the top of the third after a pair of groundouts, Vance Kurokawa reached on a base-hit to right and Jake Franks taking a pitch to the body. Christian Bosque stepped in and launched one over the left field fence to give the Raiders a 3-0 lead.
    • After a scoreless fourth, the Raiders added to their lead as Charlie Claas went deep to left for a solo home run to extend the lead 4-2. The Muskies answered in the bottom half with a sacrifice fly with the Raiders putting in another run in the sixth on an RBI groundout from Jordan Skolmar to bring across Camden Hoier. The Muskies would fight back once again in the bottom half while the Raiders continued to answer, this time in a massive way with Franks going yard for another home run to make it 6-4, while Max Babich locked things down on the mound to seal the win.
  • Game Two
    • The Raiders jumped out to an early advantage in game two as Skolmar ripped an RBI single to bring around Kyle Mayberry for the opening run. The Muskies blew the game open in the bottom half with an RBI single and then a grand slam to make it 5-1. Two more runs in the third pushed the lead to 7-1.
    • The game wouldn't see another run until the seventh when Claas drove in Mayberry to cut it down to 7-2. The Muskies would put across two more in the bottom half to bring their lead to seven. The Raiders put together a run in the eighth that started with a double down the line from AJ Le that scored Franks before driving in two after loading the bases to make it 9-5, but couldn't close the comeback.
