Baseball Splits With Eagles on Senior Day

MILWAUKEE – The MSOE baseball team honored it's senior Friday as they split with Edgewood University on the final day of the regular season.

RESULTS
MSOE RAIDERS – 9
Edgewood - 3

MSOE RAIDERS – 1
Edgewood - 2

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Game One
    • MSOE (28-12, 18-6 NACC) put on a show early as Charlie Claas opened the bottom of the first with a walk with Christian Bosque reaching behind him on a single to right. AJ Le kicked off the scoring spree from there, driving in Claas on a hit to right for the opening run with Kyle Mayberry and Robby Erickson knocking in runs behind them with singles. Jake Franks sent Mayberry and Erickson home on a triple out to left center, making it 5-0 after one.
    • Edgewood (19-18, 13-11 NACC) got on the board from a wild pitch in the third to make it 5-1. The baserunning of the Raiders put one across in the fifth with Claas streaking home on a drop third strike with the throw down to first. Jordan Skolmar added another in the sixth with a sacrifice fly with Erickson scoring, with Le scoring one in the sixth and Vance Kurokawa scoring one in the seventh to make it 9-1. The Eagles cut into the deficit in the eighth, scoring two on a triple, but Jayden Hoffman in his final game at MSOE Raiders stadium shut things down in the ninth to secure the win,
  • Game Two
    • The Raiders used game two as a bullpen game, finding themselves in a pitchers dual with the Eagles. The Eagles put one across on a double-play ball that ended with an errant throw from the Raider that scored a second one to make it 2-0. The Raiders couldn't find any rhythm offensively until the eighth inning when Hoier singled up the middle and Mayberry drew a walk to put two on for Sullivan. He would then get the Raiders on the board with a single to left, but couldn't tie up the game, eventually falling.
