RIVER FOREST, Ill. – The MSOE women's volleyball kicked off conference play with a dominating straight-sets victory at Dominican University Thursday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- MSOE (7-4, 1-0 NACC) got out to a hot start, leading 9-3 with four Raiders recording a kill before Dominican (0-11, 0-1 NACC) cut it to a three-point difference at 9-6. A pair of kills from Alyssa Rusch on a 6-1 run pushed the lead to 15-7 at the media timeout as the Raiders continued their rhythm to storm away as Ella Notheisen knocked in the set clinching kill to win 25-12.
- The Stars regrouped in set two to open, having their largest lead of the night at 11-4 as the Raiders slowly cut down the deficit as Ashley Murphy and Notheisen each knocked in three kills to help tie the set at 17. After the next two points went the Stars' way, the Raiders rallied to go on an 8-0 run as Notheisen closed three of the final four points, including the set clincher, with aces to win 25-19.
- The Raiders used the late set two magic to carry them into set three as Emma Schattschneider nailed a pair of aces apart of a 6-0 run to lead 7-2 to open. Just before the midway point, the Raiders began to roll on a 8-0 run before rolling to clinch the match 25-9.
