Smith enters his second season at MSOE as the hitting coach. In his 1st season the offense improved hitting .301 as a team with 92 2B’s and 30 HR’s. Also, reaching 30 wins for the 1st time in school history. Before MSOE he spent 2 years at Lindenwood University where he worked the Outfielders and helped with the hitters. During his time there they went from a 16 win team in his 1st season to 30 wins in his second season. The 4th biggest jump in wins in Division I.
As a player he played at Webster University from 2016-2022. During that time the teams won 6 SLIAC Regular Season Championships and 4 SLIAC Tournament Championships. In 2019 the team won a Super Regional and participated in the DIII College World Series. Smith was a two time All-Conference selection both as a Designated Hitter and Infielder. He was also named to the 2021 All-Region team as a Designated Hitter.
