FOND DU LAC, Wis. – The MSOE women's volleyball team saw its season come to the end with a 25-22, 25-20, 25-18 loss to Marian Saturday afternoon at Sadoff Gymnasium.

The Raiders (10-14, 4-7 NACC) and Sabres (9-19, 4-7 NACC) finished tied for eighth in the NACC standings, but MU netted the final conference tournament spot with the head-to-head tiebreaker.

The first two matches were tight, with MSOE leading 18-17 late in the first set. The teams traded points down the stretch, with Marian scoring the final two. The Red and White was on the other side of a late one-point deficit at 19-18, but the home team closed on a 6-2 run to take the second frame. The Sabres then used a 6-0 run midway through the final set to take control and claim the match.

Freshman Sarabeth Haworth led the Raiders with 11 kills, while freshman Rachel Lynde tallied nine.

MSOE capped the 2013 season with  four more wins than 2012 and one more NACC win. Haworth topped the squad with 239 kills and 266 digs on the year, while Lynde (207) and freshman Maria Bintz (205) also topped 200.

The Raiders lose no seniors for next year, so the team will remain intact and only get better.
