Box Score DePERE, Wis. – No. 2 St. Norbert scored three goals in a 6:04 span over the end of the second period and the start of the third as the MSOE hockey team dropped a 3-0 decision to the Green Knights Friday evening at the Cornerstone Community Center.
The Raiders (4-13-1, 3-8 NCHA) and SNC will wrap up the weekend series Saturday in Milwaukee at the Kern Center. Puck drops at 7 p.m.
MSOE's defense held strong, keeping the No. 2 team in the nation out of the back of the net over the first 35-plus minutes of the game. The Green Knights struck for the first goal of the game at 14:25 of the period. They then doubled their lead just after killing off a Red and White power play, as Chris Rial blasted a slap shot from the right win on a counter attack.
St. Norbert then put the game out of reach with a third goal just 0:29 into the final period.
Freshman Austin Campbell got the start in goal, making 29 saves against the second-ranked offense in the country. His counterpart, David Jacobson, stopped 15 shots for the shutout.
