Box Score AURORA, Ill. – The MSOE women's volleyball team outhit Aurora in each of the final two sets, but it was not enough in a hard-fought 25-22, 25-22, 25-22 loss Friday evening at Thornton Gymnasium.
The Raiders (10-12, 4-4 NACC) hit over .300 in the final two sets, but was unable to overcome the Spartans (20-8, 6-2 NACC) on their home floor.
Junior Kasey Mylin led the Red & White attack with eight kills on a .467 hitting percentage. Sophomore Maria Bintz finished with seven kills and two aces. Freshman Abby Born directed the offense with 29 assists and had 12 digs.
Brooke Pylant paced Aurora with 12 kills and Peyton McKenzie had 10.
MSOE improved as the match went on, committing just two errors in each of the first two sets. Despite just the pair of errors, the team hit just .152 in the first set, but got that clip up to .310 in the second thanks to 11 kills. The Raiders closed out the match with 15 kills on a .324 attack percentage.
The Red & White returns to action Saturday, playing at Dominican.
