Box Score AURORA, Ill. – The MSOE women's volleyball team offense hit just .034, but the Raiders hung tight with Aurora in a 25-20, 25-20, 25-22 loss Saturday afternoon at Thornton Gymnasium.
MSOE (9-11, 0-5 NACC) did not hit above .065 in any set, while the Spartans (10-11, 4-1 NACC) attacked at a .220 clip for the match.
Senior Leah Hendricks was the lone Raider to reach double-digits in kills, finishing with 12 and a .286 attack percentage. Freshman Hannah Pekarek added six kills and junior Rachel Lynde five as the trio accounted for 23 of the team's 25 kills on the day.
Peyton McKenzie tallied 15 kills to pace Aurora.
The Spartans opened the match hitting .407 to claim the first set and the Raiders hit -.048 in the second as the home team won the first two sets. The teams were more evenly-matched in the final frame, but MSOE could not overcome AU to force a fourth set.
The Raiders will return the court next Saturday, hosting Benedictine.
