Box Score FOND DU LAC, Wisconsin – The MSOE women's volleyball team committed just 12 errors on nearly 100 attacks, but could not solve the Marian back row defense in falling 25-18, 26-24, 25-16, Wednesday evening at Sadoff Gymnasium.
The Raiders (1-9, 0-3 NACC) ended the match hitting .141 as the the Sabres (3-12, 1-1 NACC) finished with 57 digs over the three sets.
Senior Sarabeth Haworth and freshman Kylie Kamm had a team-best five kills apiece, while Haworth added 13 digs.
Alexandra Meidl led Marian with 10 kills, with Hannah Buntrock chipping in nine.
MSOE played from behind the entire first set as the home team hit .419 for the frame. The second game, however, was tight and back-and-forth with neither team leading by more than two points. The score was tied at 24-24, but MU scored the final two points to take a 2-0 lead.
The Sabres broke a 3-3 tie early in the final frame with an 8-1 run and never looked back.
The Raiders are back in action at Lawrence on Saturday.
