Box Score MILWAUKEE – Currently in the middle of the toughest portion of their 2019-20 schedule, the MSOE women's basketball team looked to snap their six-game skid against Wisconsin Lutheran tonight. Unfortunately, the offense just wasn't there as the Warriors win their 33rd contest in the 35-game series.
RESULTS
Wisconsin Lutheran – 54
MSOE – 33
HOW IT HAPPENED
It was a low scoring affair in the first half, as both MSOE (4-10, 4-5 NACC) and Wisconsin Lutheran (9-4, 7-2 NACC) combined for just 37 points. With the Raiders down by just nine at halftime, they were right in the thick of things thanks to their stellar defense. The defensive effort kept going in the last two frames of the ballgame, but the offense did not. The Red & White only scored four points in the third quarter which allowed the Warriors to add 15 more to their already decent sized lead. MSOE would rebound in the fourth, outscoring WLC 15-12, but the damage had already been done. The Raiders shot just 32.5 percent from the field for the game and exactly 22.2 percent in both the first and third quarters as they fall for the seventh time in as many games.
RAIDER REMARKS
- Even when their offense isn't clicking, the Raiders defense is always there to rely on. They once again held their opponent below their season points per game average tonight (60.8 ppg)
- The Red & White held their own in the paint, only being outscored by two in that category (16-14 WLC).
- Each team had 22 turnovers, but it was the Warriors that took advantage of them the most. WLC outscored MSOE in points off turnovers 26-14.
