HOW IT HAPPENED
MSOE (8-8-4, 3-8-4 NCHA South) set the pace in this evenings contest, bookending the first period with goals to give them the advantage right away. Stuart Harley kicked things off when he buried the puck after passes from Jeff Makowski and Christian Sabin to make it 1-0 Raiders just three minutes in. Then with just three minutes left to go before the first intermission, Nick Redmon and Brandon Turer assisted on a Nigel Nelson goal to give the good guys a two-tally advantage. Lawrence (5-14-1, 4-10-1 NCHA North) was able to silence the Red & White in the middle 20-minutes and cut their lead in half with a goal at 8:02. That didn't deter Graham Johnson's men, however. The Raiders added two more points to the scoreboard in the third. First was Matt Hanewall via Zach Davis at 11:23 before Kyle Herbster scored an empty netter with just 52 seconds remaining to seal the deal and give us our final score of 4-1. With the win, the Raiders added two more points to their season total and kept their playoff hopes alive as they win their second game in a row.
