MEQUON, Wis. – One of the biggest question marks across the country and at all levels heading into this season was will wrestling actually be allowed to take place due to the nature of the sport and COVID-19 still very much a factor in everyday life. That question was answered Saturday afternoon when MSOE took part in the first of three duals that will form their CCIW regular season. It was a mixed bag in terms of results, but several Raiders dominated throughout their 2-2 day.

RESULTS
vs. Carthage – WIN 41-6
vs. Lakeland – WIN 41-12
vs. Concordia Wisconsin – Loss 38-10
vs. Wheaton – Loss 32-9

HOW IT HAPPENED
It was a tale of two outcomes this afternoon in Mequon. MSOE (2-2 Duals) started off with convincing wins against both Carthage and Lakeland at the CUW Duals. However, it was a much different story when it came to the other two matches. The Red & White were not able to pull out victories against Wheaton and host Concordia Wisconsin and had to settle for a .500 record during their first day of live competition this season. There were some constants throughout though. Drew Matticks picked up where he left off last season and won all four matches he took part in (two decisions and two falls). Helton Vandenbush was also on top of his game with three wins to his name. Gianni Rago took home two victories while Grayson Vandenbush and Hunter Huddleston rounded out the Raider W's with one win each.

WHAT'S ON DECK
The Raiders will be back on the mats this upcoming Friday when they take part in the Wheaton Duals. They will square off against Elmhurst, Millikin, and host Wheaton starting at Noon.
