Box Score WAUWATOSA, Wis. – After a tough series against Edgewood one week ago, the MSOE women's basketball team looked to start fresh and earn a win against a Wisconsin Lutheran ballclub that had not seen any competition so far this season. Unfortunately, poor shooting in the second half did not allow this to come to fruition as the Raiders fall by ten on Friday night.
RESULTS
MSOE RAIDERS – 47
Wisconsin Lutheran – 57
HOW IT HAPPENED
It looked like MSOE (0-4, 0-3 NACC North) had put their first quarter woes behind them when they came out of the gate and matched Wisconsin Lutheran (1-0, 1-0 NACC North) point for point to start the opening frame. Tied at 12-12 going into the second, both teams did the exact same thing and gave us a halftime score of 27-27. The nine ties and five lead changes in the contest came from this back-and-forth battle, but the second half was a different story. The Red & White never led in the final 20-minutes thanks to a shooting percentage that went from 53.8 percent in the second quarter all the way down to 14.3. This allowed the Warriors to gain a five-point lead which would grow to ten in the final quarter as the Raiders shooting continued to fall with an 11.8 percent performance in the final stanza. MSOE made just one of 16 shots from behind the arc and got outscored 21-11 in points off turnovers on their way to a ten-point defeat.
