Box Score CHICAGO – Coming off a huge 2-0 win over Dominican this past Saturday, MSOE men's soccer was looking to keep their forward momentum going. However, Illinois Tech wouldn't move aside so easily as the two teams tied on Wednesday night on the southside of Chicago.
RESULT IN DOUBLE OVERTIME
MSOE RAIDERS – 1
Illinois Tech – 1
HOW IT HAPPENED
- A look at the box score would make one assume that MSOE (7-3-3, 5-0-2 NACC) dominated the game but that wasn't the case against Illinois Tech (5-9-1, 1-6-1 NACC).
- The Raiders got off 32 total shots, including 16 in the second half, but only had Zach Thompson's goal in the 50th minute to show for their efforts.
- Meanwhile, the Red & White defense limited the Scarlet Hawks to just 11 all game but IIT was still able to tie the contest with less than 12 minutes left to play.
- The Raiders outshot Illinois Tech 8-0 in the two overtime periods but weren't able to find the back of the net as the ballgame ended in a stalemate.
RAIDER REMARKS
- This is just the second tie between the two teams in their series history, a history that sees the Raiders still holding a 4-0-2 advantage.
