Box Score 2 GREENCASTLE, Ind. – MSOE women's basketball headed to the Hoosier State to end 2021 at the Amy Hasbrook Memorial Tournament which was being hosted by DePauw University. While the first game of the two-day event didn't go their way, the Raiders came away with a thrilling overtime victory to go 1-1 and claimed third place.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- vs. No. 10 DePauw
- MSOE (4-6, 2-2 NACC) struggled against the tenth best team in the country as DePauw held the Raiders to just 23.4 percent from the field.
- Meanwhile, the Tigers scored at least 13 points in every quarter and outrebounded the Red & White 52-26.
- Grace Ellington led the team with 8 points while Chloe Kurkjian and Skylar Flanagan each had five rebounds.
- vs. Franklin
- The third-place game the next day was a completely different story. MSOE came out and had their highest scoring contest of the season against Franklin (4-6, 2-1 HCAC).
- The Raiders jumped out to a 15-8 led after the first quarter but the Grizzles evened things back up by the time the fourth rolled around.
- With the Red & White up by three, Franklin hit a buzzer beater to send the ballgame into overtime, but the Raiders were not fazed. They outscored the Grizzles 17-14 and made sure that another buzzer beater didn't fall as MSOE snapped their five-game losing streak with a three-point victory.
RAIDER REMARKS
- The tournament served as the first time that the Raiders had played both DePauw and Franklin in program history.
- Sophomore Emily Runey was named to the All-Tournament Team.
- Sophomore Raekyiah Williams put together a double-double against Franklin with 11 points and 14 rebounds.
- The overtime contest with Franklin was the Raiders first since they played free basketball against Wisconsin Lutheran back on January 18, 2017.
WHO'S ON DECK
The Red & White will have another tough test ahead of them when they welcome WLC to Hotchkin Arena to kickoff the second half of their season. Game time on Tuesday, January 4th is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
