Box Score MILWAUKEE – MSOE was back in the saddle again this afternoon, taking on an Adrian team that they had lost to 6-0 the night before. The Raiders played much better this afternoon, but an extremely late goal spoiled their plans to split the season series on Saturday inside the Kern Center.
FINAL SCORE
Adrian – 2
MSOE – 1
HOW IT HAPPENED
MSOE (4-4-0, 0-2-0 NCHA South) got their first lead of the weekend at 10:34 in the first period when Jeff Makowski buried a pass from Kyle Herbster to open up the scoring on Saturday afternoon. The first period would end 1-0 in favor of the Raiders and be a sign of things to come. It was a very low scoring affair against Adrian (7-5-0, 2-0-0 NCHA South), as only a single goal was scored in each of the three periods. Unfortunately for the Red and White, the goals scored in the second and third frames belonged to the Bulldogs. Adrian tied the game just 1:58 into the second period and all would stay quiet up until 30 seconds left in the game. The contest looked like it was heading into overtime before a Bulldogs shot attempt got a lucky redirect and found its way to the back of the Raider net. MSOE pulled goalie Logan Halladay with 24 seconds remaining but were unable to get the tying goal as the Raiders fell by the score of 2-1.
RAIDER REMARKS
- Both teams combined for 13 power play chances, but neither were able to convert on a single one.
- Adrian dominated in the faceoff circle, winning 40 of the 63 puck drops.
