No. 1 Seed Adrian – 3
HOW IT HAPPENED
It was all MSOE (9-5-2, 3-4-1 NCHA South) early on in tonight's contest. The Raiders scored the first three goals of the game to put Adrian (16-5-1, 8-0-0 NCHA South) on their heels and put themselves in a good position to go into tomorrow leading the series 1-0. Kyle Herbster was set up by Garrett Gintoli and Jeff Makowski at 6:06 in the first period to put the Red & White up 1-0. The Makowski-Gintoli connection added another tally to the scoreboard in the second and Matt Hanewall and Ryan Vlaisavljevich had helpers on Christian Sabin's goal right before turning things over to the third period. Unfortunately, that is where the MSOE scoring stopped. The Bulldogs finally found their legs and added three in the final frame, including the game tying goal with just 60 seconds to go in regulation. Both teams combined for just seven shots in the overtime period as game one ends in a draw.
