Box Score HANCOCK, Mich. – MSOE men's hockey has been lighting up the scoreboard as of late, finding the back of the net 13 times in their last three games. The Raiders added six more to that total this evening as a big third period secured their fourth win in a row with a three goal victory over Finlandia.
FINAL SCORE
MSOE RAIDERS – 6
Finlandia – 3
HOW IT HAPPENED
- MSOE (9-10-6, 6-5-1-1 NCHA) had their special teams up and running once again tonight and it all started with a Garrett Gintoli power play goal from Kyle Herbster and Jack Nickels at 4:54 in the first period. The Raiders would actually head into the second frame down by one however after two unanswered Finlandia (1-19-0, 0-13-0-0 NCHA) goals.
- The Red & White scored the only tally of the second very early on and tied up the game at 2-2 with a Christian Sabin strike with assists going to Preston Park and Eliot Friedow.
- Each team traded goals to start the final period of play, including a Stian Owens tally, before MSOE left the Lions in the dust. Stuart Harley and Herbster each added a power play tally and Nickels made it two straight games where the Red & White scored shorthanded as they brushed aside Finlandia 6-3.
RAIDER REMARKS
- The Raiders now have their first four game winning streak of the season and their first since starting off the 2019-20 campaign with five straight victories.
