Turnovers Costly In Raiders Season Opener

Box Score

WAUKESHA, Wis. – MSOE women's basketball kicked off their 2022-23 season this evening when they made the short trek to Waukesha to take on Carroll. Unfortunately, the Raiders had an issue hanging on to the ball as turnovers sunk their chances in a loss to the Pioneers on Tuesday night.

FINAL SCORE
MSOE RAIDERS – 31
Carroll (Wis.) – 85

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • MSOE (0-1) started off the game in competitive fashion and shot 38.5 percent from the field and hit two of their six three pointer attempts. Unfortunately, Carroll (1-0) has just a little bit better and took an eight point lead into the second quarter.
  • There weren't many positives from that point on, however. The Raiders scored a combined total of 19 points in the final three frames of action with the main issue for the Red & White being turnovers as they tallied a total of 35 throughout the contest.
  • The Pioneers made close to half their shots in the ballgame and were able to convert on 17 of 25 free throw attempts in their blowout win over the Raiders.

RAIDER REMARKS

  • The Raiders are 2-4 in their six game series against the Pioneers with their last win coming back in 2018.
  • Tonight marked the first contest of the Raiders five game road swing to begin the 2022-23 season. The Red & White won't have a game inside the Kern Center until they take on Alverno on Wednesday, November 30th.
