Box Score MILWAUKEE – MSOE men's hockey was back on the Kern Center ice looking to rebound from their loss to No. 4 Adrian one night ago. Penalties were not kind to the Raiders for the second night in a row however as the Bulldogs scored six times on the power play to down the Red & White by four.
FINAL SCORE
No. 4 Adrian – 8
(RV) MSOE RAIDERS – 4
HOW IT HAPPENED
- (RV) MSOE (7-4, 3-3 NCHA) had their chances of winning game one taken away from them by No. 4 Adrian's (7-2-1, 4-2 NCHA) special teams' unit on Friday and unfortunately history repeated itself this afternoon. The Bulldogs scored the games first four goals, two of which came on the power play to jump out to a 4-0 lead by the halfway point of the second period.
- The Raiders would not go down quietly, however. The Red & White answered back with three second frame goals of their own. First it was an even strength goal by Preston Park from Carson Jones before Christian Sabin added a shorthanded strike just three minutes later. Sabin wasn't done though as he also netted the next MSOE tally thanks to passes from Gramm McCormack and Kyle Herbster to cut the Bulldogs lead down to one.
- The rally would fall short though. Adrian put the game away with another four goal run to push their lead to 8-3 before Herbster set up Matt Hanewall for the games last goal that reduced the Bulldog's victory margin down to 8-4.
RAIDER REMARKS
- Captain Christian Sabin secured his second two goal game of the 2022-23 season while alternate captain Kyle Herbster registered his fourth two assist contest of the year and is one away from the NCHA season lead of 11 helpers.
