MILWAUKEE – MSOE women's volleyball was back in action after some much-deserved rest after the MSOE Invitational last weekend. Unfortunately, the Red & White got down early and were never able to fully recover as Illinois Tech took down the Raiders 3-1 on Friday night.

Illinois Tech – 3 (25, 25, 23, 25)
MSOE RAIDERS – 1 (16, 22, 25, 18)

HOW IT HAPPENED

• MSOE (2-10, 0-3 NACC) just couldn't get anything going in the first set. The Raiders hit -.022 and had a total of 11 errors. Meanwhile, Illinois Tech had their second-best hitting frame of the night and took home the win 25-16.
• The Raiders rebounded in a big way with a 10-2 kill-to-block total but they couldn't hold on to a late three-point advantage. IIT took set two 25-22 behind a 6-2 rally to close things out.
• The Red & White finally got into the win column in set three. MSOE controlled the entire match, jumping out to a seven-point lead and never faltered when the Scarlet Hawks made things interesting. They registered a match high 16 kills in a 25-23 win.
• MSOE couldn't keep the momentum going, however. They never led in the final set even with a .209 hitting percentage as IIT took the match behind a 25-18 victory.

RAIDER REMARKS

• Tonight's loss was just the second Raiders defeat in the series between the two teams. However, the Red & White still hold the overall advantage 4-2.
• Emily Stratton's 19 kills are a new career high. It bested her previous high-water mark of 14 against Rockford last October.
