ST. PETER, Minn. – The MSOE men's tennis team headed up north to Gustavus Adolphus College to compete against a vast majority of schools at the ITA Regional Championship and Midwest Open.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Andres Saaverda got the day started on Friday winning his first-round matchup 6-3, 6-1 before a close 7-6, 6-4 defeat in the second round. In the doubles, Clark Rue and Miquel Lopez took a nail-biting victory 8-6, unfortunately falling in their next round match 8-6 as well.
- Rue continued his victories in the singles matches in the Midwest Open, winning his first-round match 4-2, 4-2. After a close first set in his next round 5-4, the second set went by like a breeze 4-0. His weekend would soon end though, having tough 4-2, 4-2 defeats.
