Women's Volleyball Celebrates Senior Day with Tri-Match

MILWAUKEE – The MSOE women's volleyball wrapped up their home season with a tri-match hosting Edgewood College and Augustana College to honor it's seniors with unfortunate shutout losses.

RESULTS
MSOE RAIDERS – 0
Edgewood – 3

MSOE RAIDERS – 0
Augustana - 3

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • vs. Edgewood
    • Edgewood (19-7, 12-1 NACC) stormed out of the gate with a 15-9 lead when an error from the Eagles sparked a 6-0 run from MSOE (8-18, 1-11 NACC) to tie it at 15. Trading points to 18, the Eagles rattled off 9 of the last 10 points for the first set win.
    • It didn't faze the Raiders at all in the second set as they were hoping to steal the set leading 22-17. The Eagles made their way back to 23 all, converting on the final two points needed in set two.
    • Joelle Harrington started off set three with a dump as the Raiders led 10-6 to begin the third set. The Eagles continued to find a way to halt the Red & White momentum, taking 17-11 lead, eventually up to a 23-14 lead. The Raiders couldn't find their way to stay with it, falling in a sweep.
  • vs. Augustana
    • Having played a match earlier, the Raiders hope to be hot coming into their match with Augustana (21-5, 4-3 CCIW). That unfortunately wasn't the case, having a negative hitting percentage, but wasn't seemed as a negative to the Vikings .094 hitting the set as well. The set looked to be who wouldn't have the error last, going to the way of the Raiders as the Vikings took the first set 25-22.
    • The Vikings high flying offense exploded late in the second set with a 10-1 run to win 25-13. As it seemed it couldn't go any worse for the Raiders, the Vikings opened the third set 12-0 putting them in a massive hole. Gillian McDaniel had kills late in the set to dig into the deficit, however it was too large.
WHO'S ON DECK
