Box Score RIVER FOREST, Ill. – The MSOE women's basketball offense has been producing some of it's best performances of the season as of late and Saturday finally saw the Raiders put it all together. The Red & White jumped out to a big first quarter lead against Concordia Chicago and never looked back in a 19 point victory on the road.
FINAL SCORE
MSOE RAIDERS – 68
Concordia Chicago – 49
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After coming out of the gates hot on Wednesday at home against Aurora, MSOE (5-16, 4-10 NACC) did the same thing to Concorida Chicago (10-11, 8-6 NACC) in River Forest on Saturday afternoon. Skylar Flanagan led the way for the Raiders with nine of their 20 first frame points as they shot 54.5 percent from the field to jump out to an 11 tally lead.
- The offense cooled off slightly in the second, but the Red & White defense stepped up in their place. MSOE forced the Cougars to cough up the ball seven times and refused to let them gain any ground on the scoreboard in the quarter.
- Their efforts led to a 12 point Raiders lead at the break, an advantage that only got bigger in the second half. Freshman Mahima Chokshi went off in the last 20 minutes of action, scoring 19 of her 24 points, 12 of which came in the third quarter.
- Outpacing CUC by one once again in the third, the Raiders outscored them 14-8 in the final stanza to put the finishing touches on the victory. Chokshi, Flanagan, and Nina Perl all finished in double figures as the Raiders get a big win against a NACC playoff contender.
