Raiders Run Win Streak To Six

MADISON, Wis. – MSOE men's lacrosse hit the road looking to keep their winning streak intact and their NACC record clean when they took on Edgewood. The Raiders used a big run in the first quarter to create some distance between themselves and the Eagles on their way to a 12-8 win on Tuesday night in the state capital.

RESULT
MSOE RAIDERS – 12
Edgewood – 8

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • MSOE (6-3, 4-0 NACC) was put into an unfamiliar situation at the beginning of the contest when Edgewood (3-8, 0-4 NACC) scored the game's first goal less than a minute and a half in.
  • The Raiders, who haven't had to play from behind at all during their winning streak, quickly remedied things though by rattling off four straight tallies. Tanner Whipps scored the Red & White's first and fourth goals of the contests with strikes from Peter Russchenberg and Dawson Smith sandwiched in between.
  • The Eagles pulled within two during the first quarter's final minute and each team scored a solo goal in the second. Up 5-3 heading out of halftime, the Raiders proceeded to outscore Edgewood 7-5 in the ballgame's final 30 minutes. Whipps ended up accumulating six goals while Russchenberg had three of his own in MSOE's four goal win over Edgewood to run their winning streak to six games.
RAIDER REMARKS
  • With the win, the Raiders are still perfect at 3-0 against Edgewood.
  • John Kubicki's 17 ground balls set a new single game MSOE Raiders men's lacrosse record. The previous mark was owned by alum Jerred Willhelm who had 15 back in April of 2021.
