Raiders Blank Spartans to Conclude Time in Iowa

DUBUQUE, Iowa – Battling warm temperatures, the MSOE men's soccer team cooled University of Dubuque, shutting out the Spartans to conclude their time in the Hawkeye State.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • After a quiet first 30 minutes, Nathan Dresen took the feed from Lukas Schwenke for the goal for MSOE (1-1) to strike first. University of Dubuque (0-2) out-shot the Raiders in the first half 7-4, but couldn't keep pace with Red & White, as MSOE went into the half leading 1-0.
  • A quiet ten minutes went past until excitement came as Owen Gendrich extended the lead for the Red & White, taking the pass from Dresen. It was all Raiders the rest of the way as Zach Thompson and Freddy Comparato each took the ball themselves to the back of the net, putting the game away with a final score of 4-0.
RAIDER REMARKS
  • Asher Harris came in clutch for the Raiders, shutting down the Spartan offense, facing 14 shots with six being on goal and shutting them out.
