FOND DU LAC, Wis. – The MSOE men's ice hockey team hold off Marian University as they take an overtime victory over the Sabres.
FINAL SCORE
MSOE RAIDERS – 3
Marian - 2
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Many stops were done on the defensive end as Marian (7-11-0, 3-8-0 NCHA) led the shot totals to just 10-9. However, that didn't stop the Sabres from getting on the bored first at the 15:56 mark. Just four minutes later, MSOE (9-7-2, 3-7-1 NCHA) tied the game up as Casey Roepke found Preston Park as the two went into the first break tied at one.
- The Raiders upped the shot totals in the second period 17-5 and used it to their advantage. The Sabres took a powerplay near the midway point of the second period, only to be stunned with Park sending it up to Seth Bernard for the short-handed goal as the Raiders led 2-1 after two.
- The Sabres didn't go down without a fight as with under minutes remaining, they tied up the game at two to force an extra five minutes of play. Kevin Paganini decided to call it himself just a minute 27 in to take it from the Sabres.
