DE PERE, Wis. – The MSOE women's volleyball team traveled up to De Pere on Tuesday for both conference and non-conference matches against St. Norbert College and Ripon College. The Raiders dropped a hard fought match against the Green Knights before dropping their match against the Red Hawks to split their matches on the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- vs. St. Norbert
- MSOE (11-15, 3-6 NACC) had the slight edge at the start after an ace from Ashley Murphy that was quickly halted by St. Norbert (14-12, 8-1 NACC) when they took a 6-4 lead. The Green Knights slowly grew their margin throughout the first set when back-to-back aces ended things 25-15.
- A long run midway through the second set gave the Green Knights a 14-4 lead. A block from Annabella Visak and Ana Knutson started a 5-0 run with three kills from Emma Schattschneider cut the deficit down 18-11, eventually gaining more ground 21-16 after a kill from Hannah Gilbert. The Green Knights trickled off their final points to take the set 25-17.
- Back-to-back kills from Knutson, along with an ace from Brooke Fledderman, helped keeps things tight to start before the Green Knights took a 10-5 lead. Back-to-back aces from Madalyn Skwarek brought the deficit to within two, but the Green Knights continued their momentum from the match to take a 16-9 lead. The Raiders continued to claw back at the hands of Schattschneider to go within two, but the Green Knights continued to dominate to win 25-17.
- Schattschneider led the Raiders having nine kills, along with Knutson who had six. Morgan Borchardt added 15 assists to Raider attackers, while Knutson led things on the defensive end with three blocks.
- vs. Ripon
- New faces saw most of the action in the second match as Ripon (8-14, 0-5 Midwest) held the advantage early until a block from Visak and Brenna Fledderman tied things at 11. After trading points, the Red Hawks took a 20-16 lead that the Raiders couldn't come back from to drop 25-21.
- Two kills from Bre. Fledderman allowed the Raiders to start quickly with a 3-0 lead before a block from Sydney Emineth and Gillian McDaniels gave them a 6-1 lead. The Red Hawks stormed there immediately to take an 8-6 lead. The Raiders played a vast majority of the set chasing the Red Hawks until a kill from Abby Balkema tied things at 22, from there, the Red Hawks trickled off the final three points to take the set 25-22.
- After the Red Hawks took the advantage early, before the Raiders took a 11-8 lead with kills from Emineth and Visak. The Raider lead continued to grow after kills from Bre. Fledderman before the Red Hawks tied things late at 23. A kill from Visak led to an attacking error to help the Raiders take the set 25-23 to force a fourth.
- The Red Hawks took the momentum right back to start the fourth set, jumping to a 7-2 lead. The duo of Bre. Fledderman and Balkema helped keep the Raiders within the set, helping tie the set at 20 late with hopes of forcing a fifth. After an ace from Visak brought the score to 24-23, the Red Hawk put the final nail in the coffin to win 25-23.
- Bre. Fledderman led the Raiders with 13 kills, along with Visak will 11. Bro. Fledderman had 22 assists to Raider attackers, while Joelle Harrington added 15.
