Ditar Useni and
Zach Thompson.
RESULT
MSOE RAIDERS – 2
Concordia Wisconsin - 0
HOW IT HAPPENED
- MSOE (5-3-4, 4-2-0 NACC) looked to make a statement early, outshooting Concordia Wisconsin (2-7-0, 2-5-0 NACC) 11-1 in the first 16 minutes, but only Nico Picha and Lukas Schwenke had ones near the goal that were saved. After each side started to trade shot opportunities, Useni picked back up on his hot streak after a pass from Braeden Roth in the 29th minute to put one past the Falcons goalie for the 1-0 lead. Things went quiet for both side as Steven Thomas got the lone shot off the rest of the half that was high as they headed into the break.
- The Raider offense continued to look to create a cushion, firing five shots in the first 15 minutes of the second half, including two back-to-back from Tanner Cellio on goal that were both stopped. Thompson was finally able to take one himself to speed past the Falcons defense to make the game 2-0. Goalkeeper Asher Harris came up clutch, stopping two of the three shots the rest of the game, along with the help of the Raider defense to stop the final one to shutout the Falcons.
