ANGOLA, Ind. – In another tightly contested battle in Angola, the MSOE men's hockey came back late to tie it up before falling in heartbreak to #9 Trine University.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The defenses were stiff yet again as MSOE (2-5-1, 2-4-0 NCHA) was held to just four shots compared to Trine (7-0-1, 5-0-1 NCHA) getting off six. The Thunder got a vast majority of their shots off in the final four minutes of the period with Austin Schwab saving them all as the scored was deadlocked at zero at the first break.
- The Thunder came out of the gates the same way with six shots in the first two and a half minutes, the final four all saved by Schwab. Late in the period just minutes after a powerplay opportunity, the Thunder were able to strike for the first goal of the game, having a 1-0 lead at the second break.
- The Raiders picked up the intensity in the third period, outshooting the Thunder 11-4. Late in the period as the puck flung down the Raiders offensive end, Carson Jones was able to send just far enough in time for Seth Bernard to get a chance on it to top left of the pipe to tie up the game at one. Hoping to get the game to an overtime period to more settle-downed approach, the Thunder put it away with 34 seconds remaining to take the weekend sweep.
