FINAL SCORE
MSOE RAIDERS – 1
Lawrence - 2
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The MSOE (2-2-0, 1-1-0 NCHA) defense was lights out to begin the game, only allowing Lawrence (1-3-0, 0-0-0 NCHA) to get three shots off, getting six off of their own. Midway through the period, the Raiders went on their first power play opportunity and all it took was 15 seconds as Stacey Cloute and Hannah Baumann found Emerson for her second goal of the weekend series to make the score 1-0, which held at the end of one.
- The shot totals went up for both sides in the second period with the Raiders racking up 13 compared to the Vikings 6. Despite the numbers, the Vikings were able to put one past to tie up the game.
- In the third period, both goalies were stiff in between the pipes as neither let one pass, each facing five shots their way. Heading into the overtime period, the Vikings immediately put in the dagger with a penalty shot 23 seconds to win.
