Baseball Run Rule Sweeps Day Two in Florida

AUBURNDALE, Fla. – The MSOE baseball team wasn't afraid to let the bats rip as they sweep their day of games against the RIT and Farmingdale State University in run rules.

RESULTS
MSOE RAIDERS – 15
RIT – 1

MSOE RAIDERS – 13
Farmingdale State - 3

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Game One
    • Sam Meidenbauer broke up the scoreless innings in the top of third with a two-run double down the left field line making the game 2-0. Errors from RIT (4-5, 0-0 Liberty League) with a balk in the next inning started a four-run inning from MSOE (3-3, 0-0 NACC) to make the game 6-0.
    • The Tigers finally got on the board in the bottom half of the fourth inning with a run, but things completely went downhill from them from there. The Raiders put up a seven piece, with many of the runs coming with the bases load to make the game 13-1. The Raiders continued to add to their lead with two more runs to help end the game early, winning 15-1.
  • Game Two
    • The bats continued to stay hot going against Farmingdale State (3-5, 0-0 Skyline) as Chris Barnes ripped two different RBI doubles in the first two inning as the Raiders took a 5-0 lead early.
    • The Rams broke up the scoring spree in the top of the fourth with a doubl of their own but in the bottom half, the Raiders continued to pour things on with a five-run inning, capped off by three-run homerun from Collin Truitt to make it 10-1.
    • The Rams added two more runs on the board in the top of the sixth as the Raiders were quiet for three innings. The Raiders ended things early yet again the bottom of the eighth after Kyle Labedz singled into left to bring Jack Kalitowski home with a final 13-3.
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES WHO'S ON DECK
