HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Game One
    • Micah Overley opened the game bringing Brandon Beauchamp home on a sacrifice fly to give MSOE (13-6, 7-1 NACC) an early 1-0 lead but it didn't last long. Dominican (9-14, 1-7 NACC) after tying it in the third inning put a healthy lead together in the fourth to go up 4-1.
    • After Sam Meidenbauer added two more for the Raiders in the fifth eventually staying down 5-3, the Raiders needed a spark come away with the win in game one and found it when Beauchamp and Blake Hall each reached on errors in the seventh. Overley and Barnes each singled into right to bring runners in to tie up the game as Truitt then sealed it with a blast over the fence to give the Raiders an 8-5 victory.
  • Game Two
    • The Raiders continued to have early success when game two began with Overley and Hall each driving in runs for a 2-0 lead. Things remained quiet, especially thanks to Tyler Gronert going seven innings on the mound for the Raiders, striking out 13 Stars and only allowing four hits.
    • The final two innings saw all the action when in the eighth, the Raiders put up four runs to their total, capped by a two-RBI single for AJ Le. The Stars broke the shutout in the bottom half of the inning with three runs of their own, but the Raiders continued to cushion their lead in the ninth with four more runs to cruise to a 10-3 win.
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES WHO'S ON DECK
