PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – In a game that highlighted the defensive play of both squads, the MSOE men's soccer team came up short in their season opener traveling to RV University of Wisconsin-Platteville in a low-scoring affair.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Wisconsin-Platteville (1-0, 0-0 WIAC) had the first two opportunity in the eighth minute until four minutes later Michael Rohrman took the first shot for MSOE (0-1, 0-0 NACC). Nico Picha sailed one high in the 29th minute before the Pioneers began firing off shots, including one saved by Asher Harris. Things stayed quiet the rest of the half as they remained scoreless.
- In what felt like instantly, the Pioneers scored within the first minute of the second half for a 1-0 lead. The Raiders immediately tried to take a swing as Rohrman took his second shot of the day that sailed wide before Zach Thompson sent one in the 70th minute and Steven Arthur took a chance in the 78th minute. Things continued to not find its way towards the net as the Pioneers held on for the victory.
