EAU CLAIRE, Wis. – Returning back to the Midwest, the MSOE men's hockey team shutout the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire on the road Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• MSOE (6-7-1, 2-6-0 NCHA) saw its biggest offensive production in the first period, out shooting Eau Claire (5-7-1, 4-2-0 WIAC) 9-6. Nearing the end of the first period, Charlie Skinner fed Brennan Dickey to open the scoring 1-0 before the first break.
• The Blugolds upped their offensive production, holding the Raiders to just four shots on goal in the second period, while firing off 12 shots of their own. It didn't affect the Raiders one bit, as Skinner early in the period found the back of the net to add to the lead. Both defenses came to play in the final period, as the two teams combined for nine shots total, as Schwab picked up his second straight shutout.
