MILWAUKEE – After taking the early lead in their first home game in over a month, the MSOE men's hockey team couldn't create anything after that to fall to #6 St. Norbert College Friday night.
FINAL SCORE
MSOE – 1
#6 St. Norbert - 4
HOW IT HAPPENED
- MSOE (8-8-2, 3-7-1 NCHA) knew they would have to create their own momentum early when Adam Smith fed Casey Roepke over the middle to nail one past St. Norbert (14-4-0, 9-2-0 NCHA) to take the advantage early midway through. Just minutes later though, the Green Knights scored a goal of their own to even things up heading into the first break.
- The Raiders stepped up their offensive production, leading the shot total in the second period 13-7. Despite that, the Green Knights turned a corner late in the period when they took their first lead 2-1 just before the second break. The Green Knights began to really assert them, allowing the Raiders to create nothing offensively, only allowing the Red & White fire off three shots while putting the final touches with two more goals to seal it.
