KENOSHA, Wis. – The MSOE swimming & diving teams competed in a double-dual down at Carthage College against the Firebirds and Lake Forest College. The men swept the meet, totaling six event wins with Tyler VanGompel winning two of them.

MEN'S TEAM RECAP 

• VanGompel secured two wins on the day, taking the 100-yard freestyle in 48.27, along with the 100-yard butterfly in 52.01. Also snagging event wins were Evan Scapanski in the 100-yard breastroke (59.67), Caleb Brewer in the 200-yard butterfly (1:59.81), Theodore Thomas in the 50-yard freestyle (22.11), and Noah Cheng in the 500-yard freestyle (4:58.41).
• In the relays, the group of Brewer, Scapanski, Thomas, and Garin Schilling took second in the 200-yard medlay, while the group of Riley Melum, Isaac Urban, Blake Bubniak, and VanGompel took third in the 200-yard freestyle in 1:30.40.

WOMEN'S TEAM RECAP  

• Gabby Schmid collected two second-place finishes, first in the 50-yard freestyle in 26.03 and then in the 100-yard butterfly in 1:00.58. She also added a fourth-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:21.62.
• Finishing in the top-five, Mackenzie Solberg finished fourth in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:50.47, just ahead of Emma LaPorte who finished in 5:52.15. Jayden Buenemann finished fifth in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 12:06.14, while Jocelyn Katte finished fifth in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:15.12.

WHAT'S NEXT
The Raiders will be idle next weekend before heading to the Gene Davis invitational, hosted by Lawrence University. The first event is set to start at 11:00 a.m.
