ST. PAUL, Minn. – The MSOE men's soccer team saw their season come to a close Saturday afternoon after falling to University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, in a rematch of a game back on October 21
st where the two teams played to a 1-1 draw.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The early stages of the first half were played mostly in the Eau Claire (13-2-4, 4-0-1 WIAC) offensive end, including a shot on goal that saved by Christian Dershem. With under 15 minutes remaining in the first half, MSOE (14-6-3, 8-3-1 NACC) had three straight corner kick opportunities, but couldn't muster up a shot attempt. Steven Thomas had opportunity three minutes but was an easy save for the Blugolds keeper as the two went into the break scoreless.
- After ten minutes of slow play to begin the second half, the Blugolds made the scoreboard light up twice as they scored in the 56th and 58th minute as all the sudden they had a two-goal lead. Adrian Manchado answered with a shot attempt right afterwards to try and answered but was saved right in the center for the goalie to save. The Blugolds were able to add to their lead in the 82nd minute to make it 3-0 but while time was winding down, Joey Lodcua was able to get the Raiders on the scoreboard streaking the down the middle for Braeden Roth to find. Unfortunately, the Raiders couldn't keep the ball inside the box anymore the rest of the game.

WHO'S ON DECK
The Raiders finish the season with an overall record of 14-6-3, while finishing 8-3-1 in conference play. Being voted second in the preseason, the Raiders finished fourth in the regular season but shutout opponents en route to their third straight conference championship game appearance and second-straight conference title and NCAA tournament berth.
