ELMHURST, Ill. – The MSOE men's basketball team headed on the road for the first time this season in a non-conference matchup with Elmhurst University. Despite shooting 50 percent for the game, the Raiders could not pull away from the Bluejays.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Elmhurst (3-0, 0-0 CCIW) jumped out to a hot start from the opening tip with three straight baskets to take a 7-0 lead. At the midway point of the first half, MSOE (1-2, 0-0 NACC) was able to take the lead after a pair of layups from Carson Cordelli and Chase Cummings before Mason Dopirak knocked in a pair of free throws to take a 17-16 lead with 9:08 remaining. Four more lead changes happened for the remaining minutes as Ethan Johnson capped off the first half with a jumper as the Raiders went into the break with a 36-34 lead.
- The Bluejays tied up the game on their first possession of the first half but was answered by Dopirak with a jumper on the next one. The Bluejays went on a 9-0 run looking to run away early until Dopriak nailed a jumper with 9:34 remaining to tie the game at 52. The Raiders took their largest lead of the night after Matus Dopirak laid one in but the Bluejays had one last fight and took the lead with 4:30 remaining to steal it.
