Women's Basketball Demolishes LFC

MILWAUKEE – The MSOE basketball team closed out their season opening homestand on Wednesday night, welcoming Lake Forest College to Edgar Hotchkin Arena.  The Raiders would handle the Foresters from start to finish, securing their third straight victory.

FINAL SCORE

Lake Forest College Foresters – 42
MSOE RAIDERS - 63

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • MSOE (3-1, 0-0 NACC) worked their way to an 11-4 lead after LFC (1-4, 0-0 MWC) recorded the opening basket of the contest, with every starter recording at least one point in the opening run.  The Raiders lead would reach double digits on a jumper from Aleah Butterbrodt, with the Red and White ahead 18-8 after the first quarter.  The Raiders defense had the Forester offense scrambling and stumbling, forcing three shot clock violations in the first half, while the MSOE lead would reach as much as nineteen points after a three-pointer from Halena Hill.  The Raiders went to the halftime break up 39-22, holding the Foresters to 0% shooting from three-point range.
  • To kick off the third quarter, both teams were scoreless for over four minutes until a layup from Dani Mendez ending the second-half scoring drought.  A three from Lana Kerley pushed the MSOE lead to 21 points, but a short run from the Foresters closed the third quarter with LFC trailing 46-34.  MSOE saw their lead nearly drop to single digits after a Forester layup with just under seven minutes to play, but a jumper from Lana Kerley followed up by a three from Hill helped put the win on ice for the Raiders.  The Raiders secure their third consecutive win over the Foresters, and their third consecutive win of the 2025-26 campaign.
