MILWAUKEE– The MSOE men's lacrosse team hosted their first home game of the 2025 season on Saturday afternoon, as the Raiders fell to the Elmhurst Blue Jays after a fourth quarter surge from the opposition.
RESULT
MSOE RAIDERS – 3
Elmhurst Blue Jays- 12
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Raiders (1-1) fell behind the Blue Jays (4-0) after two first quarter goals from Elmhurst gave them the advantage early on. The MSOE offense took a little time to get in rhythm but finally broke through just 45 seconds into the second quarter, as Tom Farren found the back of the net to cut the Raider deficit in half. The Raiders would nearly tie the game up on a shot from Jack Civottolo, but Elmhurst would make the save and start a run of their own, scoring four unanswered goals before the halftime buzzer, as the Raiders went to the break trailing 6-1.
- Looking to kick-off their comeback, the Red and White dominated in the fourth quarter, as goalie Alex Lo kept the Blue Jays off the scoreboard. Civottolo would add the second MSOE goal of the game with just under five minutes to play in the third, followed up by another fram Farren, as the Raiders ended the third quarter trailing 6-3. Despite harassing the Blue Jay attack all day, Griffen Kaiser and the Raider defense were unable to phase Elmhurst's accuracy. The Blue Jays went on to score six fourth quarter goals as they shutdown the Raiders, who fell by a final score of 12-3.
