Baseball Splits With Green Knights

GLENDALE, Wis. – The MSOE baseball took another split Tuesday afternoon against St. Norbert College after the Raiders saw three home runs in game two to pull away early.

RESULTS
MSOE RAIDERS – 6
St. Norbert – 9

MSOE RAIDERS – 7
St. Norbert - 3

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Game One
    • A leadoff triple helped get St. Norbert (6-12, 1-5 NACC) on the board first in the top of the first before AJ Le singled in the bottom half to score Christian Bosque for MSOE (8-10, 4-2 NACC) to tie the game at one. The Raiders took a 2-1 lead in the second when William Fornos hit a SAC fly to score Joe Stried but the Green Knights took a 4-2 lead after the third.
    • The Raiders brought the deficit to one in the bottom of the fourth after Jake Franks scored Stried on a groundout but was kept scoreless the next two innings. Le tied up the ballgame in the bottom of the seventh and he rocketed a ball into the right center gap, bringing Bosque all the way around from first to tie it at four. A four-spot in the next half inning had the Green Knights sitting comfortably, but Jack Kalitowski cut into it with a double in the bottom half scoring Stried and Jordan Skolmar. The Green Knights added one more in the ninth before sealing things in the bottom half to take game one.
  • Game Two
    • The Green Knights got the early jump once again in game two, scoring a run in the top of the second. JJ Jackson showed off his power in the bottom half, rocketing a two-run homer to give them a 2-1 lead. Le had his turned with the long ball in the next inning, hitting a solo shot of his own to give the Raiders a 3-1 lead after three.
    • After a pair of quiet innings, Skolmar had his turn to show his power, scoring him and Le with a homer of his own before Stried and Kalitowski confused the Green Knights on the base paths to allow Stried to score home to extend the lead 6-1 after six. After a pair of runs in the eighth from the Green Knights, Stried continued to be a menace on the base paths, stealing third and coming home on an overthrow to add cushion to their lead before Caden Morton shut the door to seal on the mound in the ninth.
