Men's Lax Punches Tenth Win Against Beloit Buccaneers

BELOIT, Wis. – The MSOE men's lacrosse team posted their seventh straight win on Saturday afternoon, as the Raiders bested Beloit College by a score of 21-5, as they inch closer to securing a home playoff game with their tenth win of the season.

Beloit College - 5

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • MSOE (10-5, 8-2 NACC) jumped out in front of the Buccaneers (4-10, 1-9 NACC) less than a minute into the game, as Carter Stahl made the unassisted effort to put the Red and White up 1-0.  The Raiders would work their way to a 4-0 lead before Beloit would get on the board, as Stahl found Cole Karst on a man-up opportunity.  After the lone Buccaneer goal of the first half, MSOE ended the first quarter ahead 7-1, with Andrew Toman notching a goal just eight seconds before the first quarter buzzer.  The Raiders would begin to rotate goalies midway through the second, as all five MSOE goalies would see playing time against the Bucs.  MSOE shutout Beloit in the second quarter, with the Raiders leading 14-1 at halftime with Soren Savard securing a first-half hat-trick.
  • In the second half, the Raiders continued to dominate, posting five more goals in the third quarter, while again shutting out the Buccaneers.  Graden Jansen would record another quick goal off a faceoff for the final goal of the third frame, before Sean Logan recorded a Raider goal just five seconds into the fourth quarter.  The Buccaneers would add a few late goals but it was a drop in a bucket as Tom Farren locked up the second Raider hat-trick of the day with 57 seconds on the clock.  With the 21-5 victory, the Raiders would lock up their tenth win of the season after going 8-8 last year, and a win next week would secure a home playoff game for the Red and White.
