Women's Lacrosse Season Wraps in NACC Semifinal at Foresters

LAKE FOREST, Ill. – The MSOE women's lacrosse team saw their season end Wednesday afternoon, falling in the NACC semifinal to top seed Lake Forest College.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Lake Forest (13-4, 9-0 NACC) opened the game with four straight goals before Maggie Sanderson put MSOE (6-12, 5-4 NACC) on the scoreboard. The Forester scored one more before the first quarter buzzer rang to go ahead 5-1. The Forester netted three straight to begin the second before Lilly Johnson scored on a man-advantage with 7:26 remaining in the first. The scoreboard stayed silent the rest of the first half as the Forester headed into the break with an 8-2 lead.
  • Sanderson added her second goal of the game to open the second half with the Foresters not able to respond until 2:24 remaining in the quarter on a man-up advantage. Ashlyn Bode scored with 28 seconds remaining in the third to cut the deficit 9-4. Bode stayed hot to begin the fourth with a goal, cutting the deficit to four. The Foresters started to run away after that, closing on a six goal run to seal it before Anika Einbeck closed out the game with a goal with 13 seconds remaining.

WHO'S ON DECK
The Raiders finish their season with an overall record of 6-12, while finishing with a winning conference record for the first time in program history 5-4 to qualify for the conference tournament, winning their quarterfinal game against No. 4 Cornell College on Saturday, 11-10.
